CRAPPIE
Size:
Mostly from 8 to 12 inches,
occasionally over 2 pounds, and rarely to 4.
Where Found: Crappies favor natural lakes and reservoirs, with diverse
shallow and deep areas.
In many regions, crappies are the most popular fish in spring, when they hold
around shallow cover and bite small jigs and livebaits. Crappies are a schooling
fish; finding them means fast action. (Great table fare.)
